In 2016, I began chipping away at one of the most difficult projects I have ever taken on: writing, directing and producing my own independent feature documentary film. With nothing but a small bit of experience making short films as a teenager in the late ‘90s, I stubbornly accepted my own self-imposed challenge and completed the film in 2024. The making of this film has become my film school, and what a school it has been! Over the course of eight years, I had to push through mental and emotional brick walls well past my own limits to cross that finish line, but I did.
